Pai di Sotto – Crer – Albisano – Torri del Benaco

pai-torri 4 mar 2015

This is a nice trekking not to hard or difficult that takes you from the little village of Pai di Sotto, passing  the little almost forgotten hamlet of Crer, then slowly upwards to the almost unknown village of Albisano, with it’s beautiful view over Torri del Benaco and the lower lake.
From here you can see Toscolano-Maderno with Mount Pizzocolo in the front and in the south-west the bay of Salò.
If you turn to your right you can see Bogliaco, Garganano and the villages of Tignale.
Just under your feet you have the lovely village of Torri del Benaco with it’s medieval Castle.

You will go mostly on old muletracks that here and there turns into dirt road or concrete road.
The surroundings are fields with old olive trees, smoke bushes, red oaks and wild flowers.
All the way you will have a wonderful look over the Garda Lake.
This old road is a part of the old “Middle way” that once took people from Garda to Cassone – Malcesine.

The trek starts in Pai di Sotto (71mt) , follows the beach until you get to the concrete/dirt road that takes you to Crer (ca.2.60km)
The concrete road has a small part of 300mt that is rather steep.
From Crer (221 mt), the track slowly in an other 3,40km will take you to Albisano (340mt).
From Albisano in in little more than 2km, you will arrive at Trattoria Agli Olivi, and from here in less then 3km you will be back down at the lake side in Torri del Benaco (70mt).
