February has gone in a rush and now we are in March. Days get slowly longer and our eyes starts seeking flower buts and plant sprouts. There has been no winter and now we don’t want it to come anymore..worrying about all those plants almost starting to flower.
Days are grey with heavy clouds and still a lot of rain.
Somedays the sun breaks through the heavy clouds and give us a sunny, shining day that warms up our bones and our soul. 🙂
This is a quick, simply and healthy dessert. The crumble is made of old bread, a tasty way to recycle it.
Rosemary marinated apple crumble
1 tbsp of concentrated apple syrup (optional)
sprigs of fresh rosemary
nuts or almonds
dried orange or lemon peel (optional, but it is a good match)
little maize oil or other vegetal oil
Wash, peel, stone and cut the apples in slices.
Put in a little pot together with the sprigs of rosemary and the apple syrup and cover with water.
Let simmer for 10-12 min, let the apples remain cruncy and not to cooked.
Filter and put aside.
Put the dry old bread (cut in cubes or slices), the peel, the species and the nuts/almonds in a blender and blend in crumbles.
Now put the apple slices in a oven pan and cover with some crumble, mix together and finish with other crumbles.
Pour little vegetable oil over the crumble and bake in oven 200-220° for 10-15min, the crumble should get a brownish gold color.
Serve hot or lukewarm.
