Finally has the rain arrived!
It has been so desired, so wanted, so needed
I spoke to the two sheep keepers I know on Monte baldo, and they said that even up there the situation was very, very serious.
As you can see, our beautiful Costabella is brown and burned by the sun. It has been a very dry summer.
This is the valley Valfredda on the other side (Spiazzi-Novezza side) of Costabella, the edges you see are called Creste di Naole.
And here from Costabella towards the lake
But 3 days of pouring rain has changed everything.
You can almost see the trees, the plants and the flower streching out for the water.
All the dust has disappeared, the sky has turned into an ocean of turbulent blue and grey colors.
The evergreen is again in their original darkish, lash color.
The air is fresh, transparent, almost cold.
The wind is chilly, perfumed, almost cold.
The temperature dropped almost 20°C, from 35-38°C to 15-18°.
Tomorrow I have a group of 16 tourists, they are Deutch, Germans, Norwegian and English.
Probably the walk will take hours, that means more hours than usual!
Tomorrow will be a fantastic day, for a fantastic walk, with a fantastic view!
Inlagd gurka – Pickled cucumber
The recipe comes from Receptfavoriter.se
2 kg small cucumbers (punch the cucumbers with a fork)
2 tbsp yellow mustard seed
1 dl vinegar 12%
4 l water
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp salt
5 fresh dill crowns or
2 tsp dry dill seeds
Boil the all the ingredients, put the cucumbers in jars (the bigger ones cut in pieces), pour over the boiling mixture, closed lid.
Leave as little space between the cucumbers as possible.
Let rest or a couple of days before eating.
Will conserve for months, open jar should be kept in the fridge.
